I met Kathleen 2 years ago when I started my new job, she was my trainer - and became a fast friend. Throughout the year, we spent time together on our lunches, and outside of work for wine nights and RedBlacks games, and the like. Through these times together, I got to meet Sean - her then fiance - and see the two of them together and see how much they love each other.
When they asked me to be their wedding photographer, I was stoked! I knew that their wedding day would be fun filled, pretty, and a day to remember - and that it was! Kathleen had so much help from family - her uncle owns the cute Cube gallery in Hintonburg, her sister-in-law works for Wishtree Invites and designed their gorgeous invites and wedding signage, and all the family banded together to make it a beautiful day.
We started the day with each getting ready at their respective locations - hair finishing up, makeup touch-ups, ties tied, suits on, dresses and jewelry done up.
Sadly at this point it started to spit a bit, but we were all prepared with some umbrellas in case it got worse. But we left their houses and went to the Maplelawn Historic Gardens beside the Keg Manor in Westboro for their first look and some bridal party photos and bride & groom formals.
Kathleen and Sean were troopers! They didn't let rain hold them back at all, they rocked the umbrellas and pushed through, and I'd say we got some pretty fantastic photos. They each had one person in their bridal party - simply their nearest and dearest friends. Shout out to Sean's groomsman Kevin who held a huge golf size umbrella over be and followed me around as I snapped photos - you rock.
