Dark Romance - Styled Shoot
"On the seventeenth of December, two-thousand and sixteen
Under the full moon, in the clearing of the forest
I will wait for you."
- Valerie
Today, I am officially saying goodbye to winter with my post about the winter styled shoot I was involved in that included a wolf.
*record stopping scratch sound*
Yes, you heard that right. A wolf.
I remember chatting with Cait from Bourbon & Bloom about doing a dark and romantic styled shoot, and never did I ever think that a wolf would be involved. But as soon as she came to me with this Red Riding Hood inspired shoot that included one, I just could not say no! She wanted something that was different from all of the bright and cheery holiday shoots we were seeing at that time, and this definitely was that.
Now, I have to be completely honest here... I hate winter. Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas and beautiful big snowflakes falling lightly. What I dislike is the fact that I am cold 100% of the time, being wet from the snow, and having to put on 10 layers before leaving the house. So the thought of traipsing through the snow for hours to take pictures made me cry internally for a little while. So I bought a pack of hand warmers, shoved them in my pants, gloves, and pockets (to keep my camera batteries warm), and I did it. And boy am I ever glad that I did!
Cait's idea was brought to life beautifully and perfectly with many thanks to the amazing team of creatives involved, and to the wonderful owner of the wolf. I cannot forget to mention the beautiful venue: Ale - Amberwood. The interior is so warm and cozy, while the food is just delicious. It's perfect for wedding receptions, and just a nice date night out! The outside grounds are large and beautiful, with lots of wooded areas that we used to our advantage for this shoot. It is a perfect place for an outdoor wedding, and is extremely picturesque.
I'm happy that I got to be involved in such a beautiful and well thought out and executed styled shoot. I hope you enjoy a few photos below!
