We had a thunderstorm watch on our radar leading up to the session, and we were worried the whole time - but we lucked out! We had sunshine and the perfect temperature, the only complaint would be a few too many mosquitos. Thankfully I tossed a bunch of big spray on before starting!

We had a lot of fun wandering around the Mill of Kintail trail and museums, with a quick outfit change behind a tree. There were lots of laughs, and a ton of love. I absolu...

Aaron and Victoria are some of the sweetest people I have ever met. Their family is the most important people in their lives, which was very apparent at their intimate Schoolhouse wedding. They had their closest family and friends there to witness the joining of their two families, along with the most adorable son - who is the spitting image of his dad Aaron!

The sun was shining down on them that day, during their ceremony and delicious brunch receptio...

I am fortunate enough to have been friends with both Jen & Andrew for the past few years, and over a delicious homemade dinner, they asked me to be their wedding photographer.

They got married on a beautifully sunny day in October, they had an intimate wedding with close family and friends, at the newly opened Grand Hotel in Carleton Place. Frid Events pulled together an elegant wedding with deep burgundy colours, navy's and soft pastels - my dream! #h...

I was recommended to Stephanie & Matt by one of my friends and former brides, as Steph is her cousin who was looking for a photographer. When I first met Steph and Matt, I could tell they were wonderful people, who liked to have fun and were super kind. I enjoyed getting to know them as a couple, and didn't want our engagement session to end.

I felt the same way about their wedding! There was so much love between their family and friends, I felt very w...

Melissa and I have been friends since long before high school started, meeting through a mutual friend. We grew up together throughout our high school years, and even kept in touch after she moved all the way out east to PEI. With her red hair, I knew she'd fit right in (Anne of Green Gables anyone?)

I was thrilled to hear that she had met someone super sweet in Rimmy, and couldn't wait to meet him. I was even more thrilled when she asked me to be her...

Photographer -

I met Ivany in grade 7, many many moons ago, and we were great friends. I remember walking around the halls of St. Paul's High School (I later moved on to Bell) with this larger than life girl who was shorter than me, yet sweet as pie.

I was thrilled when she contacted me to photograph her wedding! We had a blast wandering downtown Ottawa during their engagement session, and was happy to hear we would get to do the same for her wedding day.

They both g...

I met Kathleen 2 years ago when I started my new job, she was my trainer - and became a fast friend. Throughout the year, we spent time together on our lunches, and outside of work for wine nights and RedBlacks games, and the like. Through these times together, I got to meet Sean - her then fiance - and see the two of them together and see how much they love each other.

When they asked me to be their wedding photographer, I was stoked! I knew that thei...

Photographer -

This past wedding season I had the pleasure of meeting Lori through her son Matt's wedding to the beautiful Stacey. This fantastic mom has a serious green thumb, and she grew all the photos for the couple's wedding in her own backyard! I was absolutely amazed and the beautiful bouquets, and boutonnieres and decor she created.

She reached out to me recently and provided me some tips to share with all of you if you're looking to take photos in your garde...

Engagement sessions can be a lot of fun! They are a great way for you as a couple to get used to being in front of the camera, and for me as the photographer to get to know you more as a couple and how to photograph you two together.

Here are a couple points to remember, and to make the session the best that it can be.

1. Have fun! Don't stress!

The first 20 minutes are going to feel super weird and awkward, unless you're someone who is photographed on a...

Stephanie contacted me last year, after getting my name from her cousin Sarah, who's engagement photos I had done earlier that year. And I am SO happy that she did! Her and her fiance Matt are just the cutest couple - I know I say this about everybody, but I swear. they're adorable.

I met them at the Mill of Kintail Conservation Area and it is just stunning. It was my first time there, and I had a lot of fun exploring every single trail, the waterfron...
